Private Instruction

My Place or Yours?

There are are variety of reasons why you may prefer to have individual training for your dog.

– It may be more convenient having a trainer come to you at a time that works with your busy schedule.

– Perhaps you have a behavior that only happens in the home (separation anxiety, chaos at the door, counter surfing).

– Or maybe your dog is not very sociable or comfortable around other dogs or strange people?

Whatever the reason, it is easy to make arrangements for one-on-one training for you and your pet.  I can come to you, or you can bring your dog to me.   I also give semi private and small group classes at your home (for you and a neighbor or two?).  Again, the convenience of setting the schedule to fit your needs can be very helpful.  Also, dogs that are taught in small groups of two or three, can get through the sessions faster, requiring sometimes 3 to 4 sessions instead of six.  Call me so we can talk about what options that might work best for you.  805-328-8030 in San Luis Obispo.

Who’s right for private sessions?

These dogs may be best served on a one-on-one basis in a private setting.

– shows aggression to other dogs,

– may be too aroused in a class environment,

– has a bite history (particularly unprovoked)

– suffers from Separation Anxiety or other form of “Home Alone” disorder

– is fearful and withdrawn or shut down around dogs, people, noises, strange places, etc.

No Time…No Way

I can make arrangements to come to your home several times during the week and train your dog for you while you work.  Then I’ll meet once a week with you to show you what your dog has learned and “hand over the baton.”  This is done at a time of your chosing, so that you can continue to maintain the newly developed “good behavior.”  This “At-Home” training can be set up for as long as you like, depending on the issues involved and how far you’d like to go.
